Can it measure heat on PCB better?

Thank you K.W. Your "no hype" reviews are a breath of fresh air on the Tube (that didn't sound right:). I like what I've seen of this soldering iron and those "must have it" feeling are taking over. Looks like a device to skip... Only plus is a bigger size display. Full of bugs and too expensive.

Great review and a tempting iron. I have to replace the screen in my TS100 soon and if that goes horribly wrong I shall need a new iron !....cheers.

@KerryWongBlog Your spot welder reviews can be improved by: (1) measuring the cell AC-IR (2) measuring some path AC-IR values (3) based on those measurement, making some estimation above which cell AC-IR value the spot welder can be considered EOL (4) supply a value for the distance between the tips, is that more like 2, 4 or 7 millimeter?

Not impressed with the flat blade screw to secure the tip. Fussy, even for the reviewer.

Wow, the tip versatility and power supply flexibility is killer!

Pine64 offers a competing product at less than half the price.

These types are no good. The tips only last a short time.

Not bad, but for $20 I can buy a 4 ohm 120 watt Pace 1131-0032-P1 Ultra Wave Tip and expect its iron plating to last 30 times longer. Make your own handle easy (it stays cool) and solder a cable to the gold pads on the end and use a 555 to PWM a MosFet to set temp. Works between 8v and 24v without problem (just be sure to limit Vcc to the 555 to 12v with a Zener diode).

I bought one of these from Banggood, presumably a reject. It had 1.5v noise spikes on 12v at 1 amp output. It is resting until I am bored & will try & get rid of the spikes.

Does Owon provide warranty for their products purchased from Banggood ?

Hi Kerry, thank toy for a very interesting Video, you confirmed what I thought the construction was inside the cell. Here in Sweden I bought a similar product with the brand name XOXOPO, the AA cells are rated at 1850 mAhr together with a charger that is driven by a 5V USB cable. The instructions specifically say do not use the charger for any other cell type (such as NiMH). I am using the cells for driving an electric toothbrush, so the regulator noise does not bother its operation, at least I get 1.5 V which works great, as compared with when you use NiMN cells which have an output voltage of 1.2 and as a consequence runs slow. I have done capacity tests on these cells and at 200mA load they gave a performance of a little more than the rated 1850 mAhr. It will be interesting to see how long the cells last.

Another halfbaked scope. Seems like they push out as many products as they can without properly designing the functionality. 😡

I think that Kerry Wong once found out, that Owon HDS was overclocking a 200 Ms/sec converter to 250 MS/sec. Perhaps Sotek is doing the same thing, but only then it is really needed?

How is the rubber? Mine has gotten very sticky and yucky now after a couple of years. Very disappointed. I am watching your video to see if I can just totally remove the rubber shell.

Save up your money for a better scope. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Given its price-point, its not too bad.

I already have the Owon and Zoyi and lots pf DMMs. What I WANT is a combo 'scope/thermal camera! I hope someone will do that. For about $200 with decent resolution.

The Banggood link you supplied have already changed the listing to say it's 2*40mhz 😂. Obviously haven't removed the 120mhz claims though.

Great video. Have you figure out a way to synchronize the SA with other any equipment( ex SigGen) to be on the same time or synchronized?

Did you update the firmware because i'm really disappointed in this scope and would like to know that they fix these problems in the latest firmware
